WHO IS MS. MAGNER?
Hello! My name is Melissa Magner and I have been teaching at NNC since 2006
During my time here at NNC, I have always taught science, which I really enjoy!
I love to do demonstrations and experiments that engage my students and get them
thinking about the world around them. In addition to teaching science I strongly
believe in the power of peer to peer leadership. I try to inspire this through
working with various clubs on campus.
I am originally from a small town in Michigan, called
Tecumseh, where I was born and raised. I went to college at Central Michigan
University where I studied Language Arts, and Science. I have a B.S. In Elementary education with an emphasis on middle level education. I also was involved in a number of organizations like Student Government and a social sorority, Phi Sigma Sigma.
In my spare time when I’m not working with
students I enjoy being active and staying in good physical health. I teach a
fitness class at several local gyms, and it is so much FUN!
I have a wonderful, supportive family, but most of them live back in Michigan, so I rarely
get to see them. I am the oldest of 4, and the only girl in my family.
